The Women’s March was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. Knowing that at on the same day millions of people all around the world on EVERY SINGLE CONTINENT were coming together to march, for so many important reasons, was extremely moving. As I walked over the Morrison Bridge and started to be able to see the amount of people gathered, I was overcome with compassion and empathy for everyone I was marching for and with. The energy of all of these bodies moving like a current. I felt a strong sense of community, support and love. It was truly beautiful.
I marched for women’s bodies, for minorities, immigrants and refugees, for everyone – regardless of class or race who is oppressed. As I am waking up more and more about our history and modern day realities, I am realizing how important conversation is right now. It can feel difficult, frustrating and overwhelming to see where others are coming from, but we can’t stop talking. Compassion, Conversation and Action.
