In our house, you can never have too much lip balm. This has been my adage since adolescence, and now that I have a child of a similar age, it’s even more relevant. The tubes disappear faster than socks in the laundry, and we’re always in search of a great new brand, our next favorite flavor, or fun packaging and design. So, happy was the day when CannaSmack entered our lives.
Creators of a unique hemp body care line, CannaSmack is the kind of company – and makes the kind of products – that will inject a little sunshine into your life. And who doesn’t need some extra sunshine these days?
Premium quality hemp seed oil is the key ingredient for CannaSmack’s lip balms and lotions. Because the oil they use is extracted from seeds and not plants, their products are not psychoactive: hemp seeds contain no THC and only negligible amounts of CBD. All CannaSmack products are carefully crafted in the U.S. using cruelty-free processes.
The original CannaSmack line includes an assortment of lip balms, with colorful designs and names like Mango Kush, Pineaepple Express, and Cherry Cough. These come in both 100% natural and SPF 15 varieties. You can order from the POSH line of tinted lip balms with CannaSmack’s yummy flavors and scents. Or grab special edition balms, celebrating collaborations with brand ambassador Happy Tokes and Brooklyn rock band Shinobi Ninja.
CannaSmack’s lip balms are a natural alternative to those petroleum-based chapsticks you’ve been slathering on your most delicate skin for ages. They feel nice on your mouth and taste good when you lick your lips. Plus, they’re safe, effective, and great for kids!
Positive Vibes Only
At Splimm, we’re fans of great products but even bigger fans of great companies. CannaSmack wins in both categories. Woman (mom!)-owned and -run, CannaSmack embraces four core values – abundance, kindness, happiness, and family – and encourages a positive, healthy, happy lifestyle.
When founder Suzanne Hoggan set out to create a product that used natural and alternative approach to healing, she was already familiar with the benefits of hemp. Further research convinced her and Marketing Director Kenia Taylor that this plant had tremendous medicinal value. Suzanne and Kenia assumed, though, that consumers would understand they were not selling a cannabis product.
“At first we thought we had a green light. You know, it’s just hemp. We thought people would know the difference, but often they really don’t. Business owners would tell us, ‘I don’t carry that stuff in my store,’ or ‘I’m going to get arrested.’” We got so much push back with this product line. It was calling to us to do something with it. So we started with a belief that we could use CannaSmack to change the stereotype.”
Rather than separating themselves from the cannabis movement, the CannaSmack team quickly became passionate cannabis activists. They’ve used their challenges as an opportunity to educate the public about the benefits of cannabis and hemp. “We both agreed,” Kenia say. “It’s hemp, it’s a part of the cannabis family, so why don’t we use it as a platform to promote a positive view of cannabis.”
The company has dedicated itself to dispelling misconceptions associated with cannabis and cannabis use. And they’ve absolutely seen a change in people’s perspectives when they share their products and initiate a dialogue. Suzanne is proud to have introduced CannaSmack to older adults who have benefited from its healing and relaxing properties.
Education for the Win
Kenia shares her products and her knowledge with her children, who aren’t afraid to take their CannaSmack to school. “My daughter’s friends asked her about it, and she was able to tell them the things she heard us talk about with confidence. She tells them: ‘There’s nothing bad in this lip balm. Hemp doesn’t have drugs in it. It has vitamins, minerals, and really important fats called omegas.’ This is another generation of change. We’re seeing a lot of change happen.”
Kenia’s daughter was recently involved in a situation in which a peer brought actual cannabis to school. She spoke up and convinced the friend they shouldn’t try it because it’s not a good idea for kids their age. This experience demonstrates what we’ve seen again and again: when children are educated about the real benefits of cannabis as well as the importance of responsible adult consumption, they make choices that make their parents proud.
CannaSmack is on a mission to show people the truth about cannabis and hemp – and the amazing potential of this awesome plant. They will not be deterred. “A lot of people would have gotten intimidated,” Kenia says. “But we decided to own this. Even if we face obstacles, even if we get censored. Our product can travel across state lines, so it’s given us a voice in places where cannabis is illegal.”
And it’s voices like theirs that are turning the tide in our favor across the nation. Support their work and give CannaSmack products a try!
