Products This Violet Delight: Strain Review At some point, “Why don’t you come over and hit my six-foot bong?” turns into “Why don’t you two get a sitter and come by our place for board games?”. Still, plenty of room for a joint or two, but the focus is likely on quality over quantity. My first encounter with Violet Delight was when I was in charge of bringing herb to a dinner party (wine is so passé you know) and I made a stop at Farma, my go-to shop when I need impressive flower. The Violet Delight didn’t have a lot of bag appeal but was so floral and interesting that bringing some to the party was a must. Shortly after dinner everyone was singing and giggling and despite that comforting sleepy feeling you get from a good meal, we weren’t retiring to the couch just yet. There was something about this strain that made a room of seasoned smokers excited so I took note and went back to stock up. The lineage for this plant comes from Sativa Green Crack and Indicas Blueberry and Shiskaberry. Liontree Farms grew this lady but I’ve picked up a very similar sample from Sofresh Farms. Light green made lighter with a healthy coating of layered trichomes. The largest bud in my jar weighed over an eighth and had a stretchy density to it that made the buds a joy to tear into. Typically high in the terpene linalool, you might expect this flower to have an intense lavender scent but instead, I found it very floral and heavy with wild blueberry. A waft of green melon sits in the jar’s headspace that makes popping the lid a treat. Several days went by before I identified a lingering taste that I couldn’t put my finger on and then it hit me, strawberry gummies! Rubbing the stems gave off a sweetness that reminded me of those classic Brach’s jelly beans, particularly the purple ones which I think must have been clove or anise flavored but can’t be sure since they were replaced with a cloying grape flavor. Violet Pastilles, a candy that you’ve maybe sampled on a European vacation or at your grandma’s house, are not very popular but perfectly capture the scent of a violet. The interesting thing is that this flower smells like that candy. Violet Delight indeed. Of all the cannabis I’ve sampled in the last year this one really stands out as a favorite. The uplifting, clear headed high seems to both relax your mind and energize your body. The aroma is absolutely unique and really shows off the pleasant floral/fruity notes of cannabis. This is the perfect strain to buy a big jar of for your mom. She can share it at her weekly Bunco game and everyone will have a blast, plus you can snag a bud or two from her jar when you stop by for old time’s sake.
